How to Child-Proof Venetian Blinds

Child-proofing your blinds and curtains is vital. Loose blind cords present the risk of entanglement or strangulation, so with this in mind, there is a range of safety devices available on all our blinds to ensure they are as child-friendly as possible.

These discreet safety devices are designed to keep your family safe whilst maintaining the look of your blinds. At WeLoveBlinds our entire range of blinds complies with The European Standard for internal blinds (EN 13120).

The is a range of safety devices available depends on the type of blind you choose. From cord cleats to safely wrap cords out of reach of children and babies to chain-break connectors, you can rest assured your kids are safe. We also have a range of tie-down clips and cord tidies which are ideal for blinds with a longer cord.

For Venetian blinds specifically, we recommend using a cord cleat to keep the cord well out of the reach of children and babies. The cleat should be fitted as high as possible (minimum of 1.5metres off the floor) to ensure there is no chance of a child getting hold of the cord. There are a number of cord cleats available on the market today and we can supply the perfect one for you.
